I'm back up in the Pilbara for 10 days to do some more archaeology, surveying this time, looking for old sites. One of the Yinhawangka men, who's country we are working on, brought me this native yam/sweet potato to look at.
The pink/purple flower is the indicator and you pull it up to reveal the edible root. This one's a small one but still very edible. Nobody seems to know the name for it in their language so we're on a mission to find an elder who might know.
