sitting at one corner of the market, working on a breakfast sambwich, when this kid plops down across from me.

i say hi, he nods.

i ask him if he wants some fries, he shakes his head. he stares at me.

i ask him if he wants to have a staring contest; he nods his head.

he wins the staring contest.
